Gas Cooker/Hob Installation
When having a gas cooker/hob fitted in your property, it is essential that the work is done by a competent Gas Safe registered cooker installer. A Gas Safe registered cooker installer will always carry an ID card which will include a photo, a unique installer licence number and a list of gas items they are allowed to install and maintain. Any gas appliance fitted by someone who is not a Gas Safe registered installer is classed as an illegal installation. If you are unsure whether a tradesman is a legitimate registered gas cooker installer, please check the Gas Safe Register at: www.gassaferegister.co.uk
At Sylvies Property Solutions, we provide expert Gas Safe Registered Engineers who are fully qualified in cooker installation.
Gas cooker installation process
During installation, our gas cooker installer will disconnect your old gas cooker and fit a new bayonet and gas hose. The gas cooker installer may also fit a chain or a stability bracket to prevent the gas appliance from tilting. Next, the cooker installer will position the new gas cooker and test the appliance for any gas leaks to ensure its safe operation. Safety devices of the cooker/hob will also be tested to ensure its safe operation. Upon completion the gas cooker installer will always provide you with a copy of a Gas Safety Certificate.
Your gas appliances should be serviced and checked for safe operation annually to ensure there are no gas or carbon monoxide leaks. This can be completed by one of our expert gas cooker installers.
